Educator, researcher and creative practitioner
Making connects
the work.
I work across design, digital innovation, education and filmmaking.
For more than 25 years, I have built programmes, learning environments and creative projects around a consistent idea: people understand complex things by making, testing and talking about them.
01 / Position
Design became education.
Education became research.
Creative practice continued throughout.
My career began in graphic design and visual communication, including work connected to film advertising. It developed through teaching, programme design and academic leadership. I am now bringing those strands together in an increasingly film-centred practice.
02 / Fields
Interdisciplinary programmes, studio learning, assessment and institutional change—designed to make complex education more coherent, reliable and useful.

Current focus
I lead the University of Bristol’s postgraduate Digital Innovation programmes while developing public writing around studio pedagogy, judgement and human capability in the age of AI.
In parallel, I am building a film-centred body of work through Don Parker Studios. The two contexts remain distinct, connected by a longstanding commitment to making and creative independence.
